Roentgenographic Method of Measuring the Retrogastric and Retroduodenal Spaces in Korean Adult

Abstract
|

|
A more accurate radiologic method of measuring the retrogastric and retroduodenal thickness is necessary to allow earlier detection of retroperitoneal masses than was possible before.
This report is to measure the thickness of the retrogastric and retroduodenal spaces and to investigate the presence of relationship between these spaces and body weight and body height, bases on the random samples of 100 persons who are supposed to be normal.
This technique consists of measuring the distances in the both lateral recumbent film between the barium filled gastric body and spine, between the barium filled gastric antrum and spine, between the barium containing base of duodenal cap and spine, and between the barium filled descending portion of duodenum and spine.
